India hard pressed to defend reputation of being World Champions !

Now India is in the Carribean and two powerful teams are getting at them, the WI and SL !

Dhoni admits that expectations are high for India. The Indian fans want more victories and this will be difficult to give. You cant win all matches all the time. But Young India is very fit, to take challenges. Dhoni has gone on record that a gutsy player is better than a skilled player. Mental toughness is all that counts.

WI meet SL today for the first match, which begins at 0800 PM IST.

For India, Shikhar Dhawan is now more experienced, wiser and stronger ! Is the the true replacement for Sehwag ? Time alone will tell.

Aridra Njattuvela also devastates !

The Dance of Destruction of the SW Monsoon continues. It is raining cats and dogs here in Guruvayur.

Chalakudy River is overflowing

Fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea and Trawling is banned. Now the Sun is transiting Aridra and this is known as Thiruvathira Njattuvela in Kerala. 10 days, 10 nights, meaning that there will be sufficient rains with sunny interludes. The Dance of Destruction done by the Head of Orion, Mriga Sira, the samhara thandava of Mriga Sira is gone, replaced  by the still fierce Aridra or Roudra Njattuvela. Njayar means Sun and Velas are  periods, meaning that they are the periods of the Sun.

On 5 Jul, the Punarvasu Njattuvela will begin and on 19th, the Pushya Njattuvela.

The Heavens indicated brutal events !

Actually, Astrology is not a predictive science. We say everything is known only to the Lord. People think astrologers are ominiscient and no mortal is omniscient !

People ask why didnt the astrologers predict tsunamis? I told them that it is not the duty of the astrologer to predict tsunamis. We are not gods !

Nature is dualistic, that is she has both destructive and creative aspects. In Her destructive aspect, She is Kali and in Her creative aspect, She is Sarawathi. The Hindu sees Her in the sweetness of Saraswathi, the laughter of Krishna and the terror of Kali. Lord Krishna says in the BG that I am the all Devouing Death, Mrityu sarva haraschaham.

The astrologer is wise only after the event. I pointed out the SWM has a destructive aspect too. Hundreds of houses were devoured by the sea. Theare are again merits and demerits of having a sea nearby. When monsoon floods come, the blockages can be removed and the water can be allowed to flow into the sea. Last week this was done in Kerala.  We have an estuary in Chavakkad, the Chavakkad Azhimugham, where the Chettuva River merges into the sea. On the other hand, there are possibilities of oceanic attacks and tsunamis, if you are living near the coast.

When people asked me about the Kedarnath tragedy ( what is your astro explanation ! ), I told them Astrology is an indicative science. Not an omniscient science, as Theology and Cosmology say. What do you see ? The Sun was in Mriga Sira. The Head of the Beast, the Head of Orion ! Beast, brute, brutal. Planetary influences on Mundane Affairs state that some brutal event is happening on earth. That is the astro reading. The astrologer is not omniscient, but the heavens were brimming with pessimistic prophecies. Then the next question will be asked, does this always happen during the solar transit of Mriga Sira ? The fierce rains in Mriga Sira Njattuvela normally wreaks havoc. Again, Astrology is not a physical science, it is a mystical science.

Predicting events using the Kerala Njattuvela Calendar in other parts is not Wisdom. For instance, we cannot say that during Mriga Sira or any other Njauttuvela, it will rain in TN. since TN does not get SWM.  May be there are sporadic rains. These Njattuvelas are specific to Kerala.

Jove in the 12th devastates Indian economy !

The Rupee falling has everything to do with misgovernance.

Look at the May stats

Export - Import = Deficit

24 b - 44 b = -20 billion

The deficit for May is -20 b and it is safe to assume that the deficit will be >200 billion this year. Given the $319 billion federal debt, where does India stand. MMS is an underperformer. We have to replace.

Since Jupiter moved to the 12th in India's horoscope ( Star _ Pushya ), we are hearing bearish news. The Stock Market has come down. Gold has come down and now the Rupee is Senior ! The Ministry that it will become 70 and it is healthy, they say ! For one more year, Jupiter in the 12th, can devastate the Indian economy. God only knows how much Inflation, food inflation etc will rise.

Mrigasira Njattuvela was brutal !

We didnt see the Sun for 5 days, when the Sun transited Mrigasira. But when he came to Aridra, he materialsed like our nuts and bolts materialiser ! Yesterday and today we had sunny interludes. It is drizzling now.

Mriga Sira means the Head of the Beast, the Head of Orion, the Hunter. What is Mriga ? Beast. Brute. Mrigasira was brutal, as witnessed in Kedarnath. In Kerala, evey day more than 10 houses were devoured by the sea. The negative aspect of the SWM ! Mrigasira Njattuvela was brutal, as it always have been. Aridra is ruled by Rahu and if we go by the dictum Shanivad Rahu, can we hope for some relief?  But Aridra is Roudra, another nodal and malefic constellation. Trawling has been banned for one month and all are warned about visiting coastal areas. From my office, Beach is just five kms away. Wild horses will not drag me there !

Add to it the Supermoon on 23rd and you can understand the devastation caused in Uttarkhand and many parts of India. In Kerala, in one day, more than 100 houses were devoured by the sea. Houses destroyed elsewhere, trees uprooted etc are reported by newspapers. The leading Malayalam daily, the Mathrubhoomi, has earmarked its second page for the ravages caused by the South West Monsoon !

Makeeryam Njattuvela ravages India !

Aridra or Thiruvathira Njattuvela, the Solar Transit of Alpha Orionis, begins today. Mrigasira, which concluded tooday, was fraught with devastation. Mrigasira is ruled by the fiery Mars and hence the destruction ! We pray for the victims of Kedarnath tragedy. It is said that the astrologer is wise after the event, even though he can discern the heavenly signs !

Now Aridra is Roudra, another fiery constellation and the destructive aspect of the South West Monsoon can still wreak havoc.

We are de-Anaxagorasing our prayers. May not the SWM wreak destruction and may not the Monsoon Fury affect the overpopulated Indian subcontinent and the whole world !

Jupiter in the Second gives victory to India again !

The Indian fast bowlers worked as a team and this was responsible for India's emphatic 8 wicket win over SL. Another quickie, Ishant Sharma, struck form and SL was reduced to nothing by his accurate swing and he was declared the Man of the Match!  Virat Kohli struck form. It was B Kumar who first struck for India, removing the inexperienced Kusal Pereira, who edged one to Raina ! In 18 overs, the Indian speedsters had reduced SL to 41/3, in overcast conditions. It was a good toss for Dhoni who elected to bowl ! Ishant removed Mahela and Thirumanne in successive overs !

Ishant said

"The wicket was two paced and there was lot of movement and bounce. I am happy that I could find my rhythm and hit the right lengths. It's very important to bowl in the right areas and I am lucky I did it."

"I am not to bowl like this every day." he added.

"It's a good feeling. I don't want to call myself the leader of the pace attack because we are working hard as a team and Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) and Umesh (Yadav) are bowling well as well. It's team work"

"I was bowling well in the IPL and I am just taking that momentum forward. It's not only about conditions, it's about bowling in the right areas. I have been doing this from the IPL," he said.

About Dhoni backing him, he said  "MS bhai is always supporting and it's a pleasure to have him as our captain" "Everyone is charged up. We are getting better as a fielding unit and bowlers are getting that confidence." He said he has no special plans against formidable England.

Kerala Tourism nets 21125 crores in 12 !

Kerala Tourism Takes Off

It was Walter Mendis, the Corporate Creative Director of Mudra, who gave Kerala the name ” God’s own Country”. He meant Kerala is as beautiful as the Lord made it, bearing on every feature the unmistakable stamp of the great Original Creative Artist !

Kerala is amongst the top 40 destinations in the world. National Geographic is of the view that she is amongst the top ten !

More than 21  K cr has come in and more than 8 lk foreign  tourists visited this beautiful state out of a total of 10.8 million tourists.  This 21,125  cr is  8%   of Kerala’s total income.

Kerala is a state fashioned by the Monsoons. The South West Monsoon, the North East Monsoon and the Summer Monsoon always protect Kerala and she is one of the few states which report rains every month and receives more than 3000 mm rainfall per year. With the result, the climate in green Kerala is pleasant !

Kerala has a lot to offer. Houseboat Tourism, particularly in the Venice of the East, Alleppey, Beach Tourism, because of the 586 km coastline, River Tourism, Mountain Tourism &  Monsoon Tourism, because of the heavy rainfalls that grace Kerala !

Kerala is just 1.1% of India ! Yet, she hosts 22% of 47 K plants, 35% of varieties of fish and 210 types of oceanic creatures. She has 700 kms of the Western Ghats & 586 kms of coastline. She receives 2000 mm rains. You will find different types of people belonging to different civilisations as she is multi-cultural and multi-religious. That is how Kerala becomes the Lord’s own country !

The foreigners say that ” well kept beaches, good people, tasty and mouth watering cuisine, spirituality and Ayurveda ” are the hallmarks of Kerala !

Beaches are a fascination for tourists and the four out of the five Districts which receive the influx of tourist have beaches ( Trichur, Trivandurm, Ernakulam, Alleppey and Idukki ).

Some fishing villages have been defined as Fishermen’s Village. Farm Tourism is also on the rise.

Sea plane to link the three  airports of Kerala along with Mangalore

The plan of the Sea Plane project is to provide service initially in the priority circuit, consisting of the three major airports of Kerala and the prime destinations, Ashtamudi, Punnamada, Kumarakom, Bolgatty and Bekal in the state.

Kerala is the flag bearer of Ayurveda, as a rich ecosystem is housed in the Western Ghats. The W G has been defined as one of the eight biodiversity hot spots, because of the immense medicinal plant reserve. Ayurvedic institutions have been given Green Leaf and Olive Leaf and a tourist, looking for therapeutic treatment can get world class alternative medicinal facilities.

Great traffic was seen at Arthirappilly Waterfalls yesterday, as schools closed for vacation.
Cherai Beach in Vypin Islands also received heavy rush of tourists.

Real estate prices at these places have catapulted, reaching unprecedented heights. Kochi had seen a realty boom and this realty boom was experienced in Trichur Dist, in areas proximate to Kochi, like Azheekode and Kodungalloor. Due to the global meltdown, however, transactions have come down. But then this is a temporary lull and after some years, realty will boom.

I celebrated the Hindu New Year with a trip to Vallarpadam.I was accompanied by my friend, Ajith, who is the Devaswom Auditor.  From High Court Junction, we took a bus to Vallarpadam. First it traversed Bolgatty Island and then we reached Vallarpadam. We went to the Vallarpadam Church, which was neatly maintained. Work is still in progress at the ICTT and then we took a bus to Vypeen Island, where a 60,000 crore investment is in the offing. We took a bus to Munambam harbour and the bus traversed Cherai, Nayarambalam, Jnarakkal etc. These islands are connected by the Goshree Bridges and GIDA ( Goshree Islands Development Authority ) is in charge of all projects.
Along with the 80,000 cr investment in Kochi, another 100,000 cr INR is in the offing.

We had a plan to go to Vypeen Jetty and then take a boat to Ernakulam mainland, but then we abandoned it as we reached Munambam. From Munambam Boat Jetty, we took a boat to Azheekode, which is just 5 kms from Kodungalloor. From Kodungalloor, I came back to Trichur.

Kerala Tourism can revive you to recharge your body and soul, capturing you with her tantalising beauty. Kerala Tourism figures primarily in Indian tour attractions and Kerala Tourism is blessed with attractions like Kerala backwater tour packages, Kerala Wildlife Tourism, Kerala Hill Station Tourism, Kerala Beach Tourism etc. Your experiences will be out of this world, as God's own country captivates you with her exquisite beauty.

Jove in the 2nd from Ascendant good for India !

Dhoni became the first Indian captain to defeat Pak in ODIs in ten matches. It was India's
tenth win in 17 matches. It was India's first victory in CT over arch rival,
Pak. Indian bowlers, both pace and spin, bowled superbly to shoot out Pak
for 165. And India won by 8 wickets. Dhawan again top scored with 48.
Dhoni's decision to bowl first was justified. He had the rain in mind and
Pak's poor batting form.

Presentation Quotes:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 'There was some bounce on the wicket and I managed to
swing the ball a bit. I was a bit nervous but I knew that I had to give
100%. It has been a good experience to bowl in England. I went in with my
mindset that I had to bowl in good areas. I talked to the captain and coach
and they told me to stick to the basics.'

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was adjudged Man of the Match for his spell of 8-2-19-2.

MS Dhoni: 'I think the fan support has been there. It is always good to have
fans around you. We are doing well in all three departments and some
individuals are taking up the responsibility. It helps to have gloves on,
especially when it is cold and windy. We are the top fielding side in world
cricket and we need to keep the intensity up. We have been working hard on
good throws and I had to get behind the line of the ball to stop it. I will
be alright in 2-3 days (when enquired about his shin injury). Bhuvneshwar is
not very quick and he bowls in the right areas. He has taken early wickets
and he will improve as he plays more games. If one talks about the last 2-3
games, the middle order has not got many chances. In the warm-up games, the
middle order did get a knock. Our lower middle order is settled. We need to
gave Raina some net practice. We have to be at our best in this tournament
and we need to improve in our death bowling.'

Misbah-ul-Haq: 'Our performance with the bat was poor. The weather also
played a part. It was difficult for the guys due to many stoppages. I cannot
pin-point any factor as to why we performed poorly with the bat. We did well
in the warm-up games but I think we felt the pressure in the main
tournament. We cannot afford to be starting off slowly. One bad day and we
are under pressure. In these sort of conditions, the team really needs some
good performance with the bat. The bowlers did a very good job. I have not
enjoyed the tournament due to the performances.'

Jove in the Second glorifies India !

Who says Jupiter in the House of Weath is not good ?  He is proving to be  good, as He gave a glorious win  over the mercurial West Indies.

The Champions Trophy started with a bang with India beating SA  comprehensively. India, despite criticism that Indians are vulnerable to swing bowling and cannot bowl well in English condtions, played magnificently even in the warm up matches. Umesh Yadav bowled well at 145 mph and was instrumental in getting Aussies all  out for 65 in a warm up match.
In the first match, India beat SA and Shikhar Dhawan got a glorious hundred. Off 94 balls, he smashed the hapless SA bowlers to all parts of the field and was involved in a 127 first wicket partnership with Rohit Sharma.

"I am happy to help the team win", said the swashbuckling opener. "I am happy with the knock I played but happier because we won a game that was actually getting quite close".

India crushed WI yesterday by eight wickets. Jadeja starred with 5/36 and
and Dhawan pulled off another century againt hapless West Indies.

India bowled well to keep the WI to 233. When Jadeja came, WI was cruising
well at 93/1 and then he mesmerised the WI batsmen with some good spin
bowling.

Meanwhile Bravo blamed the WI batting line up for the debacle ! "Our batsmen
have to take the blame for this," Bravo said. "Another 25 runs could have
made a difference if the tail batted smarter," Bravo said, adding:"Most of
us played bad shots at the wrong time and I am part of that too. We keep
losing games in the middle. We need to address this issue and recover as a
batting group before our next match," the West Indies skipper said.

WI meet S A on June 14 at Cardiffl."Our destiny is in our own hands. It's
going to be a final for us and it's possible and I know we have the team to
make the second round," Bravo said.

Bravo praised Sammy for his blistering 56 off 35 balls. "It's not that he
was trying to prove anything. He played his natural game and I am very happy
for him," Bravo said.

But the Carribean skipper was fierce on Darren, his cousin. ."It was one of
the worst knocks he played and he has been spoken to. But with wickets
falling around him, you can't blame him," Bravo said.

Again Dhawan and R Sharma got India off to a formidable start, a century
partnership. Both Sharma and Karthik scored half centuries to support the
swashbuckling Dhawan.
Thus spake the stars

Jadeja: 'I enjoyed my bowling today. The pitch was a bit slow and I
bowled in the right areas. I was getting some turn. I played one match
before against England on this wicket and I got two wickets. I am happy with
the wickets in England. I am trying to bowl in the right areas and keeping
it stump to stump. In the Marlon Samuels dismissal, it seemed that the sound
came off the pad first. Dhoni told me that he was not sure but he told me to
take the review if I was sure.'

Ravindra Jadeja is the MoM for his haul of 5/36.

MS Dhoni: 'It was a professional performance. The West Indies got off
to a good start and they seemed good to get to 280. We got regular wickets
and we did not allow the batsmen to rotate the strike. The pacers bowled the
right lengths in their second spells. Bhuvneshwar and Ishant bowled well. I
am finding out more new things about Jadeja. He has proven that he is vital
to the team. He is the best all-round option that we have got and he has
shown that he is a great performer. We needed to execute the end overs well
but if one looks at the bigger picture, we have done well. Rohit Sharmaand
Dhawan have accepted the challenge. Dhawan did well against Australia and
Rohit Sharma opted to open not only at home but abroad as well. The fielding
has also been great. The Indian team has never played a dead game, so the
game against Pakistan will be very important.'

Dwayne Bravo: 'We got off to a good start and we need to be 30-40 runs
more. The Indian bowlers bowled very well. Sammy played really well and I am
happy with his performance. The collapse in the middle was a combination of
poor batting and good bowling. We need to improve our strike-rates in the
middle overs. We need to improve our mistakes for the next game. There was
no swing for the pace bowlers and we bowled too wide on a fast outfield. The
bowlers needed to bowl a bit straighter but credit goes to the Indian
batters. We were not able to attack. During the drizzle, Narine could not
grip the ball but he bowled very well. The next game is like a final and it
will not be easy against South Africa.'

was trying to prove anything.

Now both Saturn and Jove are adverse, but Jove in the Second from Ascendant balances !

Jupiter has left Taurus . He had moved over to Gemini and we are hearing bearish news - like inflation, lack of infra, exports not upto mark, food inflation, IIP down etc.  Infrastructure is lacking. Power supply for industry is erratic.

Negative Factors

What are the negative factors, represented by  Saturn in the Fourth and Jove in Twelfth?.

Astrologically both Jupiter and Saturn are  pulling down and India is caught between the cyclical swings of boom and recession.

The 12th is the House of Loss and during that phase many economic problems will plague India. Despite the assurances of the Finance Minister, Indians will find the going tough. North Western India may get only 80% rainfall. In Kerala, also the SWM has only rained in certain parts. Anyway Kerala will get a normal monsoon !

In other words, the outook is not so rosy.  The 319 billion dollar debt and more than 100 b deficit make India a deficit country. Despite the developmental talk of the politicians, many parts of India do not have even potable water and infrastructure. Corruption is rampant and crimes are on the increase.

Sector wise, Industry contributes only 20% of GDP, Agri only 17% and the rest 63% is accounted by the service sector. It is time both industry and agri contribute more to the GDP and then only can India reach the level of China or US. The Agri sector lacks innovation and investment. India has to improve in the hardware sector in Industry. Only some sectors of industry - software, tourism etc - are doing well. The political stability in the wake of the 2014 General Elections can affect the market considerably.

Positive Factors as represented by Transit Jupiter in the Second from Ascendant

On the positive side, harvest may be strong, beacuse of the normal monsoon forecast and the agri sector may post a 3% growth. Industry may post a 4% growth. Electricity generation may go up by 7% and manufacturing 4%. There are strong FII inflows and a modest economic recovery. India's potential is great and India has a burgeoning middle class. The falling rupee will fuel demand for IT stocks. And the Sensex is bound to oscillate between 18 K and 20 K !

Jove in the Second from Ascendant redeems India !

Jove in the 2nd from Ascendant  redeems India
Who says Jupiter in the House of Weath is not good ?  He is proving to be  good, as He gave a glorious win  mighty South Africa.

"It was nice to play with Rohit.  He is such a pleasure to watch and really runs the singles very well. We adjusted to the conditions very well and once we settled down, the runs started coming. It was quite a job."
"Guys like Morne Morkel and Ryan McLaren are well known names in the world of fast bowling. So we knew they would attack us from the start. But we took our time to settle down and then scored off their pace" said the young dasher.

"I quite enjoy taking pressure but today it was more about waiting for the loose balls. The wicket was good to bat but it was important not to rush into strokes. This strategy worked very well after the first powerplay."
Dhawan said that he practised well at the nets to get habituated to English conditions. He stepped out to the pacy bowlers .: "It's my nature. Courage comes normally to me. I am used to it."

Meanwhie, the South African skipper AB de Villiers attributed his team's defeat to losing Morne Morkel in the 34th over.

"But I still feel our boys fought back well to restrict India (to 331)...it could well have been 370,"

"The run outs proved to be costly but you can't do much about them. When the players are trying to do their best and your heart is pumping, the heat of the battle makes you make errors.,"

"We have to win our next two matches because in a short tournament, there are no margin for errors. We come here to win all games and we will take a lot of positives from the defeat against India."

"We will assessthe situation every day and then hope for the best, but missing both Steyn and Morkel will be a massive blow," said the formidable hooker and puller.
